Signs of Hawaii: U Down or Not?
Look closely at this sign, and you’ll spot something out of place. But if you casually glance at the sign, you’d never know any better.

This has to be an alteration, but it looks legit, mimicking the typeface and size. On closer inspection, the modification looks like a sticker or actually two stickers since the trailing “s” is layered. Must say, that’s some detailed work. U down?
A Successful Lunch Excursion
On a lunch break, I went hunting at Toys R Us for the new LEGO Minifigures Series 10 that debuted in May. The LEGO section showed no signs of Series 10, just the older Series 9. On my way out, I passed some kiosk stands near the check out registers, and a gold glint caught my eye. Whoa, there were four packs of Series 10 minifigures!

I looked around for more but couldn’t find any. I asked a worker about additional stock and was told there was none. Not sure where or when these were released at Toys R Us since they seemingly were wiped out already. Anyways, I was happy with my find which turned out to be…

Two sad clowns, the Warrior Woman, and the Motorcycle Mechanic. I love the sad, black and white clown and like the detail of the Motorcycle Mechanic. He even has a tat on his arm!

Costco Deep Dish Pizza Is a Gut Buster
Costco now sells a deep dish pizza to bake at home. Have you tried this gut buster?
While it takes an hour to cook, these pies are a good variation of the Costco pizza. The deep dish tastes similar to the regular pizza, only deeper, and saltier, and cheesier, and meatier. After two medium sized slices, you’re done.

The sausage toppings are huge nuggets, not crumbs.

Can you spot the layers of pepperoni lining the crust?

If you’re looking for pure carnivore pizza indulgence, pick up a pair of these deep dish, gut busting pies.
The Future of Blogging Is a Ghost?
Okay, not a ghost, but Ghost, the Kickstarter project for a new blogging platform. Check out the explanatory video.
This project has already surpassed its initial goal and is now 31% of its way to reaching its lofty stretch goals. So if you’re a blogger, understand the shortfalls of blogging tools, and see how Ghost addresses these problems then it’s not too late to back this project.
Seen at Foot Locker House of Hoops
Two pairs of kicks caught my eye this weekend while perusing the Ala Moana Foot Locker. This House of Hoops locale still had the LeBron X Low Easter colorway in size 10 (at least two pairs).

The recent Nike Zoom HyperFlight Premium inspired by the universe was there as well.

Oh, those HyperFlight, gotta love and hate this minimalist shoe.
Nike Roshe Runs are Mainstream
Nike’s Roshe Run line of shoes was an underground hit for sometime, but since the beginning of 2013, its visibility grew and grew. Today, I know the Roshe Runs are truly mainstream after seeing them at Macy’s. Yes, Macy’s, a neighborhood Macy’s. And not simple colorways either.
For the men, there’s the Roshe Run FB. Not my favorite of the three-pair FB pack, but still, I would not have expected to see these at Macy’s.

Treating both sexes equally, there’s the Roshe Run for women in the sail/pink force colorway. Don’t these scream Mother’s Day?!

I wonder if Macy’s coupons work on these???
Liking the Look of the Speck FitFolio
I’m liking the look of this Speck FitFolio case for the full-sized iPad. Good enough reviews at Amazon as well. Comes in a variety of colors, but this purple pattern is eye catching.
A LEGO Must Have
This is definitely a LEGO must have! From the Lord of the Rings, LEGO’s reproduced the Tower of Orthanc. What’s that you ask? That’s the dark tower Saruman ruled where he held Gandalf captive on the roof. Yeah, that tower. Check out the magnificence of this tower along with all its details. It’s over two feet tall!
And the movable Ent is a bonus along with the various minifigures! Save up $200 for July 2013.
Belkin Dot Cover No More?
My experiences with Belkin cases have been good thus far, so I went with another one. This time, I got a Belkin Dot cover with stand for my Dwellable iPad Mini. But now, looking on Belkin’s web site, I don’t see this case offered. I guess it’s no more. Still though, it’s more than a decent case.
The Dot cover is not too heavy but provides sufficient protection to the front and back of your iPad Mini. For awhile, I doubted the magnetic auto-wake trigger of this case, but it is there. Open the cover, and the Mini awakens. The magnetic clasp not only keeps the cover securely closed but strengthens the cover’s structure when open for viewing. I like the overall feel of the cover’s material, providing enough grippy texture.
There are two minuses with this case though small. The stand only works in landscape orientation. If you want to stand up the Mini in portait orientation, you’re going to have to lean it on something. I’ve seen other cases where the iPad can swivel in the stand, but with the low profile of this case, this feature isn’t offered. Secondly, I can’t easily adjust the volume buttons or mute switch. There’s just not enough space for my finger to fit in the recess of the case. No biggie, just humbug.
For the overall cost of the Belkin Dot case, I can’t complain with what I got.
Once You Go Black
Was it Wesley Snipes that uttered that phrase on Passenger 57? In any case, I’ll see if that mantra holds true for beds, specifically the Simmons Beautyrest Black series.
