Finally got around to watching the pilot episode of Glee, and it was entertaining! Kinda quirky with lots of high school stereotypes, but the music was great. Major props for covering Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’.
You can get the Glee cast version of Don’t Stop Believin’ on
.
And speaking of Journey, I had to listen to vintage Journey songs after watching Glee. Then I started reading about Journey’s new lead singer from the Philippines, Arnel Pineda. What a story! This vocal replica of Steve Perry was discovered on YouTube and sounds awesome. Listen and watch this Journey concert at Chile, especially Only the Young at around the 6:00 mark. Without the video, I would have thought Steve Perry all the way. Wow.
And don’t forget to follow Glee on Twitter.
Read this short but interesting article about what Twitter is really about.
How Twitter compares with Facebook?
Facebook is for people you know, and Twitter is for people you don’t know and with whom you may share common interests.
How to user Twitter?
find someone you trust, who spends their time discovering and reporting on things you want to learn about and follow their every move. They effectively become a human RSS feed for tons of information you would never find out about otherwise.
Where Twitter fits in with information overload.
Twitter is another step in the process as we try to figure out how to deal with the complexity of so much input of information in our daily lives.
I was too slow on the draw to talk about the obvious term of name squatting on Facebook aka “facesquatting.” Now that Facebook offers vanity URLs, facesquatting is a possibility and is already in the news.
Coulda had a pair of awesome terms with twuating and facesquatting!
Just a few pictures from over the weekend.
Got Wii? Toys R Us has them in stock if you must know. They also have all kinds of Transformer toys including action figures and voice mixing masks. I’m not sure what this book Stuff White People Like is all about, but it’s available at Borders. Hmm, solid reviews on Amazon.
Now in stores, new soda from Mountain Dew and Aloha Maid?!
Mountain Dew’s Game Fuel Horde Red and Alliance Blue are now in Hawaii. Here’s a review of Horde Red from Bevreview.com.
I didn’t know popular juice maker, Aloha Maid, produces soda as well. Iced tea and guava soda? Umm, I’ll pass.
Watched Slumdog Millionaire, what a show. Still feeling crummy for the kids and their living conditions in the slums of India. A great flick but with an out-of-character closing credits of the cast doing a group dance to Jai Ho. Here’s what I mean.
And since Nicole Scherzinger is in her hometown Hawaii performing the final concert of the Pussycat Dolls “Doll Domination” tour, here is the remade version of Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny).
The Twitpocalypse is bug in the Twitter service that is active right now. I thought this was a joke, but the Twitpocalypse is the real deal with minor impact so far.
The Twitpocalypse is affecting the search function in Tweetie, my favorite Twitter client for the Mac and iPhone. The iPhone version of Twitterific was taken out due to the Twitpocalypse.
Taking a look at my recent musical additions over the past few months:
Hmmm, quite a few of these were daily specials on Amazon.
Billshrink has this visual comparison of features of the iPhone 3G S, the Palm Pre, and the Android G1.
Wow! Owning an iPhone over 2 years costs $3800! And well worth it!
Macworld has a good rundown of the new iPhone 3G S phone along with AT&T upgrade pricing information. A funny line from the article:
In a sentence, what does the S get me?
Speed, swagger, sleek, sexy, sense-of-direction, and sinematography. It’s possible that we made that last word up.
