Playing with Ping.fm
Now that Ping.fm is out of private beta, anyone can sign up for an account. The purpose of Ping.fm is to update all your social networks in one shot. So if you have accounts with Twitter, Facebook, Plurk, Pownce, MySpace, Tumblr, FriendFeed, Jaiku, Rejaw, Delicious, and more, Ping.fm can update these services all at once.
Looks like you can even update your social network status using an iPhone optimized Ping.fm “app” or even through IM with GoogleTalk.
Surfah Slippah No Match for Centipede
The lesson to be learned here is that those cheapy Surfah slippahs are no match for a centipede even a smallish one. Wheeling out the trash can in front of the house, there was a small centipede slithering along. With kids in the household, I figured better be safe than sorry and attempted to step on the centipede (sorry Tabasco Man). One squash from the flimsy, mushy Surfah slippah did nothing but aggravate the centipede.
I didn’t get a good second step in and got stung (or is it bitten?) by this angry insect. Dang, it still hurts hours later.

Reading or Listening to Books?
I just finished reading Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, or should I say I finished listening to the book? To maximize time during daily commutes, I got the audiobook version of Twilight and have been listening to Ilyana Kadushin narrate the story of Edward and Bella.
Near the end of the story though, I got an used copy of Twilight and read through the ending. I’m not sure which way I prefer – reading or listening to a book, namely Twilight.
Reading feels speedy since Twilight is an easy read, and you can skim here and there. Though at times, I did lose track of who was speaking while reading their words. This is a plus for a narrated version since voice changes easily indicate the speaker. With the audiobook, sometimes I felt like I was zoning out while listening and may have missed a thing or two.
Since I read the end of the book, I’ll probably listen to the same sections and compare which I like better.
Sea Life Park Kamaaina Special
Throughout this Labor Day weekend, Sea Life Park has a kamaaina special of $10 per adult. Normal admission is $30 so this is a great deal.
Get there early, use sunscreen, and say hi to Gizmo, the baby turtle for me!
Morning Brew Renovated
One of the few locally owned coffee shops, Morning Brew, in Hawaii got a recent facelift. Much improved from before! Now this coffee house looks more inviting and welcoming. Before the redo, it did look old and unfriendly.
Fundraiser Bartering
Anyone interested in bartering school fundraisers? If you buy from us, we’ll buy from you (unless we already bought the same product from somebody else). What do we have?
Turkey drumsticks! Two for $10. For coworkers, we’ll pick up the drumsticks and bring to work for distribution. Pickup is set for Saturday, September 27. These smoked turkey drumsticks are fully cooked but frozen for a quick heat meal.
We also have gift wrapping and more from SallyFoster.com. You can look online for items you’re interested in and provide us the Item numbers. We can then order the items and get free shipping to Hawaii. The order will be delivered by Thursday, November 13, well in time for wrapping those Christmas gifts.

I forget why, but I sauntered over to Amazon’s MP3 Downloads section again and came across their Friday 5 specials. Starting on Friday (today), five albums are available for only $5 each. One of these albums is Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded.

A Friday before a long weekend calls for the comfy brown shirt at work. I’ve had this Hilfiger collared shirt for some time now, and it’s like my comfort wardrobe for work.
