First Salted Caramel Mocha of the Season
Yes, the popular PSL is back for the fall season, but more importantly so is the Salted Caramel Mocha. Here’s my first of this season.

And to make tinkering even more fun challenging, I learned that WordPress 4 just released along with a bunch of updates for WP plugins.
Not sure why but Pulpconnection has been extremely slow recently. Parts of it work fine but other parts just fail to load. Gotta tinker around to see what’s going on. Unloading and uninstalling stuff to make things simpler then we’ll see how it goes.

So with the opportunity to test out an Android-based smart phone, I went for it and am now the user of an LG G3. The G3 got a solid review from The Verge praising it for being an Android device without too many manufacturer extras getting in the way. Then there’s the big 5.5 inch screen. Boy, it’s big. My entire iPhone 5 fits within the borders of the G3’s display. But how does that bordering-too-big screen translate to the user experience? I’ll have to keep testing to find out.
So expect to see some Android-centric posts popping up at Pulpconnection. You’ve been warned.
LEGO is promoting its new VIP giveaway of a classic Spaceman minifigure with a collage showing LEGO space adventures over the years. Check out 1976.
That’s the Lunar Lander for which I still have the assembly instructions!
I had never heard of a fatberg before reading this Yahoo article. But now that I know fatbergs exist, I want to see one, if only for scatological reasons.
Fatbergs are composed largely of cooking oil that has been poured down drains while hot and runny. Once in the cold water of the sewer system, however, the fat congeals. The solid mess then combines with “wet wipes.” The wipes are frequently labeled as “disposable” but are turning out not to be.
Cooking oil + wet wipes = fatberg, it turns out.
It’s time to reorder white popcorn, a healthy whole grain snack, according to Bob’s Red Mill Corn Popcorn.
I never really thought about it, but it seemed like all popcorn was white (when not drenched in butter). But seeing how there’s different varieties of corn, it stands to reason that there’s different popcorn. Anyways, place your (re)order now.
Yes, actress Halle Berry is on Maui, and you’re not…unless of course, you happen to be on Maui and run into the Catwoman at dinner.

So if you’re on Maui, you may see Ms. Berry and her family out and about celebrating a wedding anniversary with family time.
And another hot seller for Nike. Seemingly any (tastefully done) crossover with the iconic Air Jordan 3 is an instant success with the latest being the Nike Zoom Vapor AJ3. Take the design from the AJ3, apply to the silhouette of the Zoom Vapor 9.5 Tour, make a limited quantity available at Nike Labs, and watch the pairs sell out in less than four minutes. When I saw the tweet announcing the Vapor release, it was four minutes old, and the Nike Lab site was already reporting out of stock messages.

Back in the day, I remember the P-Rod with the Jordan elephant print. This was the days before online kicks buying went crazy and just finding this shoe was super hard. I managed to see it in person once. Then came the Air Force 1 hybrid with the AJ3 which I managed to get a pair of and wore while watching President Obama leave in Air Force One.
I wasn’t so lucky with the Vapor AJ3. Just gotta hope a restock happens while you’re online so you have a chance of getting these. Or how about a black version of the Vapor AJ3?
With only 600 bags available for online purchase, the limited Starbucks Reserve Hawaii Ka’u has since sold out. But the Ka`u is making an appearance at the new Aina Haina Starbucks. This location is evidently going to be the premiere Starbucks on Oahu with this rare coffee available in-store along with the (non-functioning) Clover brewing system.
Thanks again to @yoda808 for the pictures.
Update: I stand corrected. Wayne’s World said the Ka`u reserve is still available online, and he is correct. I must have been using an old link or product code. Anyways, I updated the link in the post.
So I was watching the @therealpsl Twitter account as it counted down to an early release of the seasonal Pumpkin Spiced Latte (PSL). @therealpsl would drop hints to unlock a puzzle at its Tumblr site. Today, all the clues were available. Figure out the answer, and you’ll unlock a free PSL drink as one of the #firstpsl drinkers.
Sadly, showing the above graphic means nothing if the Starbucks location is not participating in the #firstpsl giveaway. 🙁
Luckily, I did manage to get a real early #PSL last week Friday.
About two weeks ago, my Kickstarter-backed Juicies+ cable arrived after a few delays in production. I went with the gold to change up the collection of white and black cables, and yes, the gold is nice, not gaudy.
Some things to note about Juicies+. It’s bigger than the Apple Lightning cable. The Juicies+ is longer, and the connector casings are fatter. Of course, the connectors themselves follow specs and standards. The fatter Juicies+ Lightning connector fits my cased iPhone 5 and works as expected and fashionably too.
